Árlegur fundur rektora og fræðasviðsforseta evrópskra háskóla á sviði landbúnaðar og lífvísinda, ICA, fór fram í Belgíu í lok október. Fundurinn ályktaði um loftslagsbreytingar og sjálfbæra matvælaframleiðslu, þar sem undirstrikað er mikilvægi háskóla, rannsókna og nýsköpunar til að ná þeim árangri sem að er stefnt. Ályktunin er undirrituð af rektor Landbúnaðarháskóla Íslands. Ályktunin verður svo kynnt á loftslagsráðstefnunni í Glasgow laugardaginn 6. nóvember kl 9.15 (GMT) af Arthur Mol formaður ICA og rektor Wageningen háskóla

Life Sciences universities addressing climate change and advancing sustainable bioeconomies
Annual meeting of the Association for European Life Science Universities was held in Leuven, Belgium on 21 and 22 October 2021. The rector, Ragnheiður I. Þórarinsdóttir represented the Agricultural University of Iceland and together with other European colleagues signed a communique on the role of life sciences universities in the transition to climate neutrality.
"We, the Rectors, Deans and Senior Management of the Association for European Life Science Universities at our Forum focusing on the Role of Life Science Universities in Transitioning to Climate Neutrality held in Leuven, Belgium on 21 and 22 October 2021; Recognising that university education, research and innovation are a vital pillar for transitioning to a sustainable bioeconomy with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions; Placing climate change and climate neutrality at the centre of our learning, research, our collaboration with societal partners, and in our campus operations...".
